๐Ÿ“– Definition

What is an Interjection?

Interjections are the most expressive part of speech! They burst out of you when something happens โ€” like when you stub your toe ๐Ÿ˜ฃ or win a game ๐ŸŽ‰.

Unlike other parts of speech, interjections have no grammatical connection to the rest of the sentence. They just express feeling!

๐Ÿ’ก Two Ways to Use Interjections:

๐Ÿ”ด Strong feeling โ†’ Use an exclamation mark (!)

"Wow! That is amazing!"

๐ŸŸก Mild feeling โ†’ Use a comma (,)

"Well, I suppose you're right."

Ouch! I hit my elbow on the table.
Hooray! We won the match!
Shh! The baby is sleeping.
Hmm, let me think about that.
Oh no! I forgot my homework!
Bravo! What a fantastic performance!
